This is the worst hotel I have ever booked on your website and I cannot believe it was such poor value! The cost was so high for the extremely poor standard! In the first room we were put in there wasn't even a full sized wardrobe so hanging up a dress was impossible, if it wasn't for the fact we would have been charged we simply would not have stayed there, It was disgusting and can in no way be described as luxury. It comp letely spooled what should have been a lovely break. It should be rated 1 star at best. I am very disappointed and angry at such a waste of money
This is the worst place ai have ever stayed in and it would put me off ever staying in a independent hotel again! It was completely inadequate and time warped!!!!
The hotel room was extremely spacious, lovely shower and hot water on tap. perfect buffet breakfast , very friendly and quietly efficient staff. All in all, one of the best weekend breaks we have ever had.
no complaints except a bit of road noise when sat outside but not enough to worry about.
Room and Food fabulous
The only thing I can think of is that the wardrobe was too narrow and the air in the corridors very stuffy.
I enquired about a nearby shop and the waitress:receptionist went onto the Internet to get me more information
The hotel room was pure luxury and comfort and our only regret was that we could not have stayed longer! We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and found everyone to be so helpful. We dined in the resturant and both the food and service were excellent. Although our stay was only short i would not hesitate to book the Kemps again next time me and my husband want to treat ourselves to a bit of luxury at this lovely hotel.
The food served was very good. Enjoyed the board games in the lounge. Room was very comfortable.
Confusion over what was booked on-line to what the hotel had booked for us. I asked for an extra bed in the room and when booking on-line was told it was in the price of 80 pounds although when arriving at the hotel was advised the room was not big enough for an extra bed. They moved us to a larger room to accomodate the extra bed but charged an extra ten pounds. This should be made clear when booking.
Staff very obliging, rooms well appointed, air conditioning a useful addition. Breakfast very good, freshly cooked and good quality ingredients.
The pillows were a bit flat and basic. The road noise could be annoying for some people as it is on a busy a road but I opted for closing the window and putting the air con on.
Excellent staff, great food, rooms were lovely, clean and good added extras.
It happened to be a very warm evening and the room was very hot - the air conditioning wasn't very efficient
Our room was large and well appointed with a king size bed and modern bathroom. There was free on site parking and the breakfast menu was wide ranging and well cooked.
There was no reception desk but you had to go to an office which said private on the door so not very welcoming, There was no bath although the shower was large but for a room price of £140 a night I would have expected a full bathroom. The car park was very badly lit as one of the lights had been covered by a climbing plant and must have been like that for some time. However when I pointed this out the manager did agree to have it seen to urgently. The WiFi only worked in the main lounge and was very slow.
We had a twin double room and the bedroom was quite large and well appointed. Good ensuite facilities. And the beds were extremely comfortable. Also a good breakfast with plenty of choice . We would definitely stay there again.
Our room was lovely and well equipped and extremely comfortable. One thing we noticed particularly was that, unlike many more expensive hotels in which we have stayed, there were two comfortable armchairs in the room - quite unusual! The restaurant served excellent food and the staff were friendly. We do not understand at all a comment made about Kemps by a previous guest which was appalling vitriolic and condemnatory of the establishment since our experience was a very happy one. Hopefully we will be going again in the future.
Two small things - firstly there was a glass of water left on the bedside table all day when the glass should have been washed and placed back in the bathroom for future use and secondly the waste bin in the room had not been emptied when we arrived back at the end of our second day. Small issues but worth taking on board we think.
The luxury and the quietness was very relaxing. Everybody seemed so calm. The food was georgeous, if a little rich, but our compliments go to the chef and his staff.
Comfortable facilities and good food in a beautiful area within an hour's drive from home. Tim, in particular was extremely polite and hard-working.
Cold coffee at breakfast. Staff did not seem to show friendliness very easily. A few more smiles would help.
Nice comfortable hotel for a one night stay. Large double room and en- suite shower room made for a relaxed overnight stop. Food & wine pretty good.
Spacious room. Plenty of hot water so the bath ran quickly.
